German saxophonist Julian Ritter, born in 1986 and raised in Bad Berneck, studied at the Cologne university of music. In 2011 he graduated with destinction from Jazz-saxophone with music pedagogy and three years later he received the Master of Music degree in composition and arrangement. Among his most important and influential teachers he reckons Karsten Gorzel, Claudius Valk, Frank Reinshagen, Oliver Pörner and Loren Stillman. In April 2015 he released with his group Botter his first album as a bandleader. It is named Ango and published by the young Cologne-based label Floatmusic. Further he appears on several albums of other artists as a sideman, such as Akua Naru's „Live & Aflame Sessions“. Since 2023 he's a constant teacher at the Landes-Jugendjazzorchester Bayern. In 2022 he founded together with his friend and colleague Marcus Kesselbauer the Band KRYPTONES. They both act as players, composers and arrangers.
Beside his constant writing for own projects he composes and arranges music for large ensembles, big bands, strings etc. Since 2022 he is a member of the Band "Moop Mama" and also their arranger. As co-founder of the Band around rapper Akua Naru, as well as with "world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra directed by Wil Salden" and with "Moop Mama" he is successfully touring worldwide since many years. He played concerts in the USA, Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Guadeloupe, Canada, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria, Romania, Macedonia, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, Georgia, Cap Verde and La Réunion. He performed at internationally renowned festivals such as Cully Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Elbjazz Festival (Germany), Lausanne JazzOnze (Switzerland), Glastonbury Festival (England), Ilò Jazz Festival (Guadeloupe), Cognac Blues Passions (France), Couleur Café (Belgium), Esperanzah Festival (Belgium), Atlantic Music Expo (Cap Verde), Rudolstadt Festival (Germany), Fusion Festival (Germany).

Der deutsche Saxophonist Julian Ritter, geboren 1986 und aufgewachsen in Bad Berneck, studierte an der Hochschule für Musik Köln. 2011 erhielt er das Diplom für Jazz-Saxophon mit Musikpädagogik mit Auszeichnung und 2014 den Master of Music in Komposition und Arrangement. Zu seinen wichtigsten Lehrern zählt er Karsten Gorzel, Claudius Valk, Frank Reinshagen, Oliver Pörner und Loren Stillman. Im April 2015 veröffentlichte er mit Ango beim jungen Kölner Musik-Label Floatmusic sein Debut-Album als Bandleader der Formation Botter. Als Sideman ist er auf diversen Alben anderer Künstler vertreten, wie beispielsweise Akua Naru's Live & Aflame Sessions. Seit 2023 ist er fester Dozent beim Landes-Jugendjazzorchester Bayern. 2022 gründete er zusammen mit seinem Freund und Kollegen Marcus Kesselbauer die Band KRYPTONES. Beide agieren als Spieler, Komponisten und Arrangeure.
Neben seiner Kompositionstätigkeit für eigene Projekte, komponiert und arrangiert er Musik für Ensembles, Big Bands, Streicher etc. Seit 2022 ist er festes Mitglied der Band "Moop Mama" und arrangiert deren Musik. U.a. als Mitbegründer der Band um Akua Naru, aber auch mit dem "world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra directed by Wil Salden" und "Moop Mama" tourt er seit vielen Jahren erfolgreich international. Konzertreisen führten ihn in die USA, nach Russland, Lettland, Estland, Guadeloupe, Kanada, Frankreich, Spanien, Portugal, Belgien, in die Niederlande, nach Dänemark, Italien, Deutschland, in die Schweiz, nach Tschechien, Österreich, Rumänien, Mazedonien, Ungarn, Slovenien, Serbien, Georgien, Cap Verde und nach La Réunion. Er bespielte renommierte, internationale Festivals wie das Cully Jazz Festival (Schweiz), Lausanne JazzOnze Festival (Schweiz), Elbjazz Festival (Deutschland), Glastonbury Festival (England), Ilò Jazz Festival (Guadeloupe), Cognac Blues Passions (Frankreich), Couleur Café (Belgien), Ezperanzah Festival (Belgien), Atlantic Music Expo (Cap Verde), Rudolfstadt Festival (Deutschland), Fusion Festival (Deutschland).
